April 9: New SimFly features ready for takeoff!

Hello SimFlyer!

As previously announced, the next big update — including the long-awaited Airplane Rental mission — is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, from 09:00 to 18:00 Zulu, covering the entire day.

We recommend that you avoid flying missions during this window to prevent errors, cancellations, or missing PAX Token assignments. As always, we’ll notify you via our official channels as soon as the deployment is complete, so you can get back to flying on SimFly… with lots of new improvements to discover! 😉

In the meantime, here are the new features we’ve developed this week:

Live Airplane Status
A new section will appear on each aircraft’s detail page, showing whether your aircraft is currently in use by another user. You’ll see who’s flying it, the departure airport, intended destination, and current flight status. This feature helps you track your aircraft’s availability in real-time.

Automatic Mission Cancellation (Airplane Rental only)
If a rented aircraft remains on the ground for more than 60 minutes after clicking “Start Flight” without taking off, the mission will be automatically cancelled. A warning message will appear 10 minutes before the cancellation. This system helps prevent users from occupying another user’s aircraft indefinitely. If you believe that 60 minutes isn’t enough — for example, due to ATC delays or heavy IVAO traffic — let us know! We’re always happy to fine-tune these settings based on your feedback.

Temporary Fix for Rare Bug
Some users have reported a rare bug preventing mission completion or cancellation. While this issue is uncommon, we’ve already implemented a temporary fix:
All missions still active after 24 hours will be automatically deleted, allowing users to start fresh without needing to contact support.

New Client Incoming!
Alongside the April 9 deployment, we’ll be releasing a brand new version of the SimFly client!

Important Note: For the first week, landing rate calculation will not yet be available for P3D and X-Plane. The update won’t be mandatory right away, but it will become required starting the following week in order to view landing rates correctly in these flight simulators on SimFly.

🎬 Preview Video on YouTube
As always, Roberto has prepared an unmissable video on our YouTube channel, giving you a sneak peek at all the upcoming features. Don’t miss it!

He’ll also be answering the most upvoted questions from the AMA section on our website. If you haven’t submitted your question yet, head over and do it now!

See you soon and happy flying!
