Update: Max Range and New Range Ring

Dear Pilots,

Mark your calendars: on Tuesday 26th at 08:00 Z, the new aircraft range management rules will come into effect. This is an important change — from that moment on, if during a mission you exceed your aircraft’s maximum range (with a tolerance of about 20%), the mission will be automatically terminated with a dedicated message. For further details on these changes, we invite you to watch Roberto’s new video!

We are also working on a highly anticipated feature: the Range Ring. On the SimFly map, a circle will be displayed showing your aircraft’s operational radius, clearly highlighting the airports within reach. This provides an immediate visual aid, making it easier to plan realistic routes without the risk of running “out of fuel.” Before the official release, we will share a demo video to showcase how it works.

Starting next week, we will also resume adding new aircraft to SimFly. Each release will coincide with the newsletter, following the community’s forum list and expanding the categories that are still less represented. If there are specific aircraft models you’d like to see, we encourage you to share your requests on the forum.

For full details on all these updates, don’t miss Roberto’s new video, where he explains the new rules, upcoming developments, and also answers the top-voted questions from the AMA section.

See you soon,
