SkySentinel, Airports and New Updates

Dear SimFlyers,

This week, we want to update you on the latest developments and address some of the questions you’ve raised in recent days. Our priority remains building a flight experience that is ever more engaging and aligned with the expectations of our community.

Let’s start with a topic that has sparked much debate among you: the removal of the Sky Sentinel. We are fully aware of how this feature divided opinions, with some considering it indispensable and others seeing it as unnecessary. For this reason, we want to clarify the reasoning behind this decision. The main difference lies in the balance between long and short flights. For instance, while a three-hour flight now offers similar profits as before, very long flights have become less advantageous compared to a sequence of shorter flights. This encourages greater engagement in aircraft management and fosters a more dynamic experience for all pilots.

For those who miss the Sky Sentinel, don’t worry: we are already working on a possible reintroduction that meets both operational needs and your expectations. Our goal is to ensure a fair and functional system, capable of avoiding issues like canceled missions while maintaining proper pilot engagement.

We’re excited to announce that the activation of airports is just around the corner! The final details are being polished, and soon you’ll be able to start leveraging the airports you own. This will be a fantastic opportunity to earn PAX from pilots landing at or departing from your facilities. We’ll provide all the operational details at the time of launch.

Additionally, starting this week, VATSIM and IVAO aircraft are now visible on the map. The old demo planes have been removed, and you can now choose to enable or disable their visibility directly from the map preferences.

As for aircraft recognition logic, we’ve finalized the latest improvements. However, if anyone still encounters issues, please reach out to our support team—your feedback is invaluable to us.

We’d like to remind you that while our roadmap is clear and well-defined, the heart of SimFly remains your voice. We will continue to listen to the community and adapt developments to deliver a system that is ever more efficient and aligned with your expectations.

Don’t miss this week’s video, where Roberto will dive deeper into the latest updates and answer the most voted questions in the AMA section.

Happy flying to everyone!
