SkySentinel Removed! New PAX Logic and Map Upgrades
Dear SimFlyers,
This week, we’re introducing significant changes to SimFly. Thanks to your valuable feedback, we’ve decided to remove SkySentinel, a system that, while well-intentioned, caused frustrations for many pilots. In its place, we’re implementing a new PAX profit logic that makes the experience more flexible and balanced.
Why was SkySentinel removed?
SkySentinel required pilots to interact constantly with the simulator to prevent their missions from being canceled. This was particularly frustrating for those unable to remain in front of the simulator throughout their flights, especially on longer routes.
This approach not only restricted pilots’ freedom but also penalized those who preferred longer flights, making the experience less enjoyable.
New PAX Profit Logic: More Fairness, More Freedom
With the new system, we’re rewarding your flight activity without the limitations of the past.
Here’s how it works:
No more mission cancellations: Flights will no longer be canceled if you’re not actively interacting with the simulator. You can now complete long or short routes without worrying about losing your progress.
Rewards for activity: Pilots who complete more flights, even shorter ones, will earn more overall PAX. For example, six one-hour flights will earn more PAX than a single six-hour flight. This is because a higher number of flights reflects greater activity from the simmer in the simulator, unlike a single long flight that requires less direct interaction.
Fairness for long flights: Pilots who prefer longer routes will still earn proportional rewards, without any restrictions or penalties.
This logic applies to both pilot licenses and aircraft, ensuring a more balanced profit system for everyone.
Regarding Airport Owners
Once airports become activatable, the current logic will remain unchanged: longer flights will continue to generate higher profits. This ensures that airports hosting long-haul flights will continue to reap significant benefits. We believe this update strikes a fair balance between rewarding pilot activity and maintaining equitable incentives for airport owners.
Improved Map Performance
We’ve optimized the SimFly map for faster navigation and more responsive real-time aircraft data. This is just the first step in a series of planned updates to make your experience even smoother.
